Carlsbad Caverns National Park, NM

First off we would like to congratulate Courtney Williams on being the first to guess the animal in our last blog! Below is a closer photo of the wild horses. We got lucky and spotted these two while driving to the hot springs. They actually come up from Mexico into Big Bend National Park. We found out later that the park actually doesn’t want the horses there so they round them up when they can and take them back over the boarder.

After Big Bend our family spent a day exploring Carlsbad Caverns National Park in New Mexico. Its crazy to think that beneath the surface is more than 119 known caves – all formed when sulfuric acid dissolved the surrounding limestone. The pictures we took don’t even do the caves justice, we highly recommend you check them out for yourself if you are ever in the area!
