Rhode Island

Its been a little while since we went to Rhode Island but we never got to post on our blog about it. Since we look back at our blog a lot to remember all the places we have visited we wanted to be sure we added our trip photos!

Our first day visiting Rhode Island it was raining on and off so we did a lot of sight seeing from the car. We drove around Naval Station Newport to check in and get information for the week. Luckily we did get a chance to walk around Newport during a rain break and enjoyed a delicious lunch at Smokehouse Café. I recommend the Black and Bleu burger! Then we drove to Fort Adams State Park and saw tons of sail boats!

Day 2 we spent the day in Providence, Rhode Island. We begun the morning looking at sail boats. Since we are researching different types/brands of sail boats for the possibility of a life at sea, it was good to step on board a few sail boats to see size wise what we may need for our family.  Later we walked around Roger Williams Park . Beautiful day for a stroll. We also rode on the carousel, but unfortunately both kids were not a fan! Probably the fastest carousel I’ve ever been on, way to fast for our little ones. Then we headed into the city and had dinner at XO Cafe. We closed our day enjoying the WaterFire presentation on the river. Highly recommend the show, but other than that we wouldn’t suggest Providence for a visit.

Day 3 we ventured the Cliff Walk in Newport. By far one of our favorite activities in Rhode Island. Beautiful views, easy walk with younger children, clean, and a nice breeze from the ocean.

Day 4 we did the Cliff Walk again!  We also enjoyed lunch at O’Brien’s Pub. Madison got to go “fishing” in their pond!

Day 5 we went sailing!

Our last day was spent at the Newport International Boat show….
