Key West, FL

Our family has been enjoying Key West, FL.  The weather here has been crazy. One day we are sweating in tanks and shorts the next day we need pants and sweaters. We have also had some strong winds at night. Up to 60 miles an hour!

Key West is definitely popular this time of year. Cruise boats stopping daily and lots of snow birds. We are staying on base (Trumbo point) with no hookup for $14 a day. Which completely beats off base which can be up to $200 a night! They have full hook up here too but are on a rotation schedule of 30 days on 30 days off. Luckily with the generator its no big deal! We just have to empty every 4 or 5 days and refill our water. To save water we have been showering at the bath houses and I (Teaya) have been enjoying the extra long showers!

Our time here has consisted of trying different restaurants, walking Duval street, strolling the Harbor walk, exploring the beaches, and looking at sailboats. We happened to be here during their annual seafood festival and their qualifying sailboat races. We are here for a few more days then moving along.

It took us over a week to get this photo below because there was always a huge line of people. We finally got up early one morning and lucked out with no line! Of course we have that “one” guy in the background, oh well we tried. Southernmost Point in the USA…
