Honey Lake Resort
Our family stayed at Honey Lake Resort for our nephews wedding in Greenville, FL. What a beautiful hidden gem! We had a spacious room in the trophy lodge within walking distance to the pool, gym, and game room. The kids enjoyed visiting with the horses, riding around in the golf cart, and playing in the pool. While Jon and I enjoyed sipping wine by the fire and the serenity of being in such a remote location. Honey Lake is truly breathtaking! Five star resort, five star amenities, five star service.
Shortly after arriving we got word that the officiant for the upcoming wedding had backed out last minute. They had called several other people but being a holiday weekend, everyone was busy or already booked. Guess who went online and got ordained? That’s right….Jon. It’s kind of scary how easy it is to get licensed to marry people.
Then we came to find out hurricane Hermine was coming right towards us. We kept an eye on the news, prepared as much as we could, and prayed for the best. It was to hit us in the middle of the night so my biggest worry was that there would be tornados that we could not see.
We did loose power for about 24 hrs and spent the next day cleaning up all the fallen branches for the upcoming wedding, but the storm wasn’t nearly as bad as predicted. Jon and I both agreed that we have been through worse storms on the boat and on the RV.
Saturday came along and everything was in full swing for Kyle and Emily’s wedding. At 6pm Jon performed his first wedding and the two love birds sealed the deal with a beautiful kiss. Congratulations to the new Mr. & Mrs. Kyle Tompkins!
Jon can officially perform weddings, funerals, baptisms, and bar mitzvahs. What a crazy trip full of surprises! More wedding photos below…
